Last year, I tried to tackle one New Year’s Resolution a month, but it was too much, so I failed. In fact, I only did four out of the 12, so I decided to go seasonal this year and do one resolution per season. Here’re my more realistic, seasonal resolutions:
Winter: Weight-Lose. This year I’ll try a “Power of 3 Block,” where I do 3 things for 30 minutes, 3 times a week: running, high-intensity interval training and weight-lifting. (I’ll also practice my Pilates routine five times per week for the weekly Pilates class I teach.)
Spring: Sing. I tend to sing driving to/from work, but when I perform, I stand, and sit-singing and stand-singing feel different on your diaphragm, and it’s hard to get good at one while only practicing the other. So I’ll practice stand-signing, 3 times a week, for 30 minutes.
Summer: Write. I’ll write for 30 minutes, 3 times a week.
Fall: Capture. I’ll practice my photography/videography for 30 minutes, 3 times a week.
So, hopefully, I do better this year with less pressure and less resolutions.
What about you, dear readers? What are your New Year’s Resolutions? And how goes it?
